Frequently Asked Questions (Faq’s)

Cruise Questions and Answers

What kind of cruises do you offer?
We offer cruises for any occasion, both for private and business. All events are professionally staffed and catered. Give us a call at (416) 868-0000 or email us today for more information or to book a charter.
What should we wear?

Clothing that is appropriate to both the weather and the event is what we suggest. The important rule is to be comfortable. Evenings can be cool on the water, so a jacket or a sweater is always a good idea. On an afternoon cruise sunscreen and sunglasses will make for smooth sailing. All footwear is acceptable, however we recommend something with low or flat heels. High heels are not recommended.

Does the ship go out in the rain?
Yes, we cruise in all weather. However, dense fog and high winds, on occasion, may keep us at the dock.
Is there parking available?

Public parking is only steps away from where our ships are moored. Rates vary depending on the time of day, and day of the week. Check with Harbourfront Centre for current rates.
Here is a great resource for parking.

May I bring my own liquor?
Unfortunately, Ontario liquor laws do not allow you to bring outside alcohol with you, or to remove alcohol purchased on the boat.
How much does a charter cost?
Prices vary widely depending on the day of the week, time of the day, and time of the year. For our rental rates, please contact us. We also have many packages inclusive of food that may be exactly what you are looking for!
Can we bring our own DJ?

Our DJs are all professionals and we will provide you with the type of music you require. However, if it is important that you have a particular DJ on board, yes you certainly may bring them. However, we will not be allowing outside equipment on board. We have a great sound system, and we make every effort to abide by the strict noise by-laws in the harbour. Our own DJ will continue to be on board and will monitor the use of our system and the sound levels. There is an additional fee of $600 plus taxes for this service.

Is there an age restriction for attending a cruise?
The age restriction for private charters is at the discretion of the charterer. Our liquor license does not restrict minors from being on board. Please note that there are no specific lifesaving apparatus, i.e. life jackets, available for infants.
What do drinks on board cost?
You may find our current pricing on our website, for Bar Pricing click here.
What if we want liquor brands that you don’t currently carry?
We would be happy to bring in any specific brands of beer, liquor, or wine, as long as we are able to under our liquor license. Please provide any details at least one week before you cruise.
What is your cancellation policy?
Your initial charter deposit is non refundable. If you would like to change your date, there is a cost for this. Please check your contract for these details.
Where does the boat go?
Our two ships cruise on the sheltered waters of the Toronto Harbour.
Our general route map can be found here, (Cruise Map). Please note, the final route is determined by the captain who takes into account the weather and traffic details. It is his job to ensure a smooth and safe trip.
Does Yankee Lady cruise all year?

Yankee Lady cruises from late April until late October or early November.

How is the ship decorated?
We provide white linens on all tables. For an additional fee we would be happy to supply chair covers, centrepieces, balloons, etc.
May we decorate ourselves?
Yes you may. However, please note, this must be done in the hour prior to your boarding time. If you require more time, we will work with you, but there will be additional charges for the time request. A maximum of 5 persons will be allowed on board to decorate. Please check your contract for what décor is allowed/not allowed.
How many people can you carry?
Our maximum capacity is 280 passengers. Please note this includes any extra entertainment you bring, any outside dj’s or catering staff. Children are also included in this total.
What type of payments do you accept?

We take Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Debit, business cheque, cash, Paypal, Email Transfer and EFT.

Will my cell phone work on board?
Yes. However, you may experience some “dead” zones out on the lake.
Will my guests get seasick?
No, unless they generally get motion sickness, e.g. in their car etc
Are we allowed to smoke on board?

On private parties, there is a designated spot on the ship, where food and beverages may not be consumed, where guests may smoke if they wish. This is in compliance with the Ontario Smoking bylaws, as pertaining to passenger vessels.

PLEASE NOTE in accordance with the liquor laws of Ontario, there may be no Marijuana use in a liquor licensed establishment.

Are you wheelchair accessible?
Yes and no. While our gangways are tailored to accommodate wheelchairs, strollers, walkers, service animals, etc., once on the ship, passengers with major mobility issues may or may not be able to access certain areas of the ship. Food and beverage and outdoor areas are all available on the main deck. Our washrooms and other decks are accessible only via stairways.  See our page on accessibility.
